A silence that speaks

What have I done
Done to deserve the silence
The silence you are giving me

Choices must be made
Made before losing sight
Sight of what we want

All will be well
Well if you allow me to
Allow me to become myself

But I need your support
Your support and trust
Trust that I can do it

Give me the chance
The chance to tell you
Tell you what is on my heart

For doubts are rising
Rising now you are silent
Silent and far away

I felt the need to write and share this, as I often do on moments it feels like I cannot reach her. Somewhere I have confidence that she reads it. A new empasse is reached, carry on with the old or turn to the new, despite of the connection she and I have.

I like your poem very much, Niek, what type is it? I mostly write in free verse, because that's the only thing I know, but I noticed you repeat the last word in the next stanza, is it a specific format?

Not sure, I have not had any classes in poetry or writing. I just let it flow in a way that for me feels right. One poem is like this and an other poem has a completely different format.

I used to write poems when I was upset, in love, out of love, angry, lonely, etc. Now, I haven't written a poem for a long time, so busy with living.

Your welcome Cha~Zay . I know what you mean Mariter. Writing a poem can release so much energy and send it into the world. Playing with the words is something that I enjoy quite alot while I am writing.
