Hello all, I found your thread on the bee decline and over the last couple of years I have studied this problem and spoken to DEFRA and the NBU about it. It was nice to see a thread about this here. I was born and lived in England and for the last few years have lived in the countryside of Wales, where I see woodpeckers for the first time in my life. I started work in mechanical engineering (naval ships systems) then after a degree in electronics (80s) I worked mostly at GEC Avionics, Rochester, on the Apache and the Typhoon (fly by wire and head up displays). I then took a post grad in physics and became a physics teacher for a short while. The kids were too rude for my liking and took a one year residential course in watch and clock repair. I now enjoy bringing antique watches and clocks to full working order and trade them in my online shop and eBay. I am interested in Astrophysics, Cosmology and Astronomy, I keep up to date with NASA missions. Thanks U.S.A. for giving me the memory of the first Moon landing, my dad let me stay up all night to watch it here, on a school day. I play guitar and bluegrass banjo, quite well and would like to tour Bluegrass and Cajun country one day. My dad was a Flight Lieutenant RAF in WW2 and flew Lancasters, he would also take aerial photos during missions and taught me all aspects of photography from a young age, I have always had a camera with me and it has paid off as I have thousands of photos from 7 years onwards and from 1986, video, of family and friends. Bye the way, I suggest to everyone that they sit down and video an ageing relative telling a story from their youth, and keep it for the family. Most home vids will show aged relatives sitting in a chair (waving or pulling a face) but their history or funny story is lost, think about it. My parents taught me to think for myself, so religion plays no part in my life, my view is belief = gullible, sorry folks, I know the U.S. has a lot of believers When humans don't understand something, they tend to make something up, this happens in Cosmology also. I prefer to find out where info comes from and cut through the man made propaganda, that governments or greedy authors want to push onto us, for their own ends. I am interested in discussing any and all topics, please let me know if there is anything meaty going on Mark
Ben looks intense!! lol Thank you for sharing, AwgieDawg, and welcome to our blorum family! Interesting background and I love that you get to the bottom of source... Looking forward to 'meaty' discussions!
Welcome Am looking forward to see what you bring. You seem not to be moved quickly and that is good. Though even the biggest rocks can be made small by the water that flows around .
Welcome AwgieDawg! Wow! You have an impressive background that makes for lot of topics to share with us. I am particularly interested about antique clocks and watches and how you can bring them back to working order. Looking forward to reading your posts.
Hi Mark ... nice to meet you I love your straight forward attitude and are looking forward to learn from your experiences in life
