Have you ever wondered if Native Americans keep their hair long?

Is it a fashion statement or just a custom or tradition?

    Far from it!
    slide.jpg
Government studies revealed that when the government was recruiting Native Americans who were the best trackers and hunters of their tribes, suddenly lost their skill when they entered the army and serious casualties resulted.

"When questioned about their failure to perform as expected, the older recruits replied consistently that when they received their required military haircuts, they could no longer 'sense' the enemy, they could no longer access a 'sixth sense', their 'intuition' no longer was reliable, they couldn't 'read' subtle signs as well or access subtle extrasensory information."

    Wow!

The testing institute then initiated various tests where several men were allowed to wear their hair and beards long and others were not. Performance seriously improved in 'sensing' enemies approaching. When the hair was cut, their performance went down. These tests were done over and over again according to this article by C. Young.

I love this part when it states that: "Not only does hair in people, including facial hair in men, provide an information highway reaching the brain, hair also emits energy, the electromagnetic energy emitted by the brain into the outer environment. This has been seen in Kirlian photography when a person is photographed with long hair and then rephotographed after the hair is cut.

"When hair is cut, receiving and sending transmissions to and from the environment are greatly hampered. This results in numbing-out .

"Cutting of hair is a contributing factor to unawareness of environmental distress in local ecosystems. It is also a contributing factor to insensitivity in relationships of all kinds. It contributes to sexual frustration."

[Ladies beware, men who are reading this will now grow their hair by the masses, and when they do, watch out! Better get your work-outs in now, you'll be needing 'em. x3 ]

"The story of Sampson and Delilah in the Bible has a lot of encoded truth to tell us. When Delilah cut Sampson's hair, the once undefeatable Sampson was defeated."

Okay, now I know why I think men with long hair are hot and why women with short hair are not! It's an intuition thing - who would have thought!?

So what about those shaven heads? Many truth seekers shave their heads completely. What's that all about?

In ancient Greece, long hair used to be a symbol of wealth and power, while a bald, shaven head was the sign of a slave.

As for me, I think I'll be placing a classified ad online with the specification that I am looking for one long-haired, furry, beared, teddy bear!

Very interesting. I must say I haven't noticed any extra sensory perception when growing a beard and the itching certainly doesn't make it worthwhile. And seeing as I'm at the age now where I'm losing it on top, I won't be entering any tracking contests against Native Americans ;)

Cha-zay, that's one long haired, furry, bearded teddy bear all right! You're assured of a very comfortable but ticklish cuddle! :D

Hair do make us sensitive to our surroundings, does it not stand on ends when we sense something? the hair on our arms or at our nape?

yes, you're right! I hadn't thought of our body hair rising up when we sense something. Oh now, I can just hear the comments: "Body hair? What body hair is she talking about?" haha LOL

You should have seen the furry guys, ooops, sorry, the hairy guys that I first wanted to show off here. But then my conscience said I'd get in trouble if I did that... So Hagrid had to do. He looks like I would picture Sampson in the bible...

He looks like Moses to me (without the coats, just the Hebrew clothes) when he came down from Mt. Sinai with the ten commandments and he saw the Israelites adoring a golden calf. :)

As for body hair, don't we get goosebumps when we get excited? :p

OMG! I had grown my hair long for about 18 months, and had some cool seventies rock star groove going on. I shaved it all off like two months ago because I had a bald patch starting to gain more prominance.:eek:

So the superhighway to my brain was already diminishing on its own! So to avoid looking as if I was having a mid-life crisis, off it all went. Have to say I have started growing a beard now over the last month (something I've never had), so there is some compensation I guess! :)

Better that you shaved your head, Lee. I remember seeing men covering their bald patch by parting their hair to the other side, like a very long "bangs". :D

I was sitting on the bus today, all googly-eyed and curious over men's haircuts and beards when I saw this young, maybe 17-ish guy with looooong fire red, curly hair and the biggest brown eyes trying to peak from underneath. Then an gentleman in his mid- to late 70s entered the bus and sat next to him. He had a clear bald spot going on but still tried wearing his hair and beard down to his chest. It just wasn't quite that full anymore. Okay, okay, it was verrry thin. ;) And it made me chuckle and smile that these two men, generations apart, looked so different, yet they both somehow 'knew' that long hair would make them more intuitive...no matter how much or how little they had. :)

Never, never, never!!!! I will sooner be bald than do that! :D
Interestingly though, as a man, having long hair sort of gave an extra boost of confidence. Not sure why, maybe it was simply a nod back to youthfulness that I yes, I can still have a full head of hair and then some!

This is apparantly true. I have heard this so many times, and I guess is a great perk of being bald! Not sure why so many men worry about losing all their hair! :D

I love this article! Maybe this is one of the reasons why I'm increasingly intuitive... it's all about the hair! LOL
